Chain Maille Something New For Me

This is my first attempt at making an item with chain maille. I chose a very simple pattern for my first piece. Now I had to learn how to make my own jump rings, I used the link here . That's right I never made my own jump rings before! The larger rings measure 10 mm, they are made using 14 k gold filled twisted wire, the smaller rings are 4 mm I used argentium sterling silver twisted wire. I really did enjoy this project and look forward to making more chain maille. I handcrafted the toggle clasp for the bracelet. Wrapping and cutting the jump rings is time consuming but assembling the bracelet goes pretty quickly.
This pattern is called the Helm/Parallel Chain click on the link to view.
Here is a link to a really great site to learn some of the different chain maille weaves.

Here are the matching earrings, finished!

Bracelets & More Bracelets!

My yard project is coming to an end for this year. It has been a lot more hard work then I figured it would be, but isn't that the way projects usually go? I had worked rather steady at the yard and started feeling pretty tired, so I took some time out to get a few orders done and managed to get a couple more bracelets done, here they are.

Pink Squared
This bracelet has 3 - 12 x 17 mm Rhodonite Pillow Beads and 2 round 8 mm beads joined with 14 k gold filled wire wrapped loops . The spacer joiners are 14k gold filled wire made into square knots . Handcrafting the toggle clasp helps to keep the cost of the bracelet down. Bracelet measures 8.25"

White Shells & Daisies

5 - Ivory colored flat shell 20mm round beads. Put together with handcrafted daisy spacer - joiners made with 14 k gold filled wire. The toggle clasp is handcrafted. Bracelet measures 8"

This one is made with 8mm green jade beads and argentium sterling silver wire. The cross is an argentium sterling silver purchased cross. I handcrafted the toggle clasp. This one has gone to a good home!

This bracelet is black onyx 6mm and 4mm beads put together with argentium sterling silver wire. The cross is a puchased cross. I handcrafted the toggle clasp.

I hope that everyone has had a real good August and September, I hope to be back dropping in and reading all of your blogs soon. To all of you who have kept dropping in on me a real big thank you! I appreciate you all.

Until next time

Another Picture Puzzle

From Just Riddles and More these images are amazing when you consider the artist painting the smaller images into the whole picture. The painting is from Jonathon Art.

There are 7 smaller images in this painting, can you find them? If you find this picture a little too small, click on the link to Just Riddles and More to view a larger image.
