One book that I have purchased is authored by Heidi Kummli and Sherry Serafini . The projects and stitches are well explained. Both artists give their own personal preferences for different techniques.
I have also purchased Beadweaving Brilliance 2 by Kumiko Mizuno Ito and The New Beadweaving: Great Projects with Innovative Materials by Ann Benson.

Here are a few of the bead weaving and bead embroidery artists sites I read that have inspired me to start.
Triz Designs
Beadalicious
MaryLou's Art [Ad]venture
Beading Times There are some really great tutorials on this site.
Jewelry Tales
De Perle en Perle A french blog that may be translated, what an amazing site.
There are many sites that inspire.
I have also purchased a lot of beads but am finding that I need a whole lot more! Isn't that the way? I like to have everything I want for a particular project when I want to start the project, but am finding that I have to reign in here or go broke. How do you purchase beads? Do you purchase your beads by the project or do you have a very wide variety of colors on hand? I purchased some of my beads from Artbeads, I like that they have $1.00 shipping to Canada. Any other good ideas for places to shop online?
Until next time

Thank you for commenting on my chainmail bracelet! I also have thought about bead weaving from seeing the wonderful creations on the sights!! I am still trying to learn the chainmail though...whew, it's tough!
Your pieces are beautiful!
Good luck in your bead weaving/bead embroidery adventures!
The "ideal" would be to buy only what you need for a project...but I don't think that ever happens!
oh, you don't want to know how I purchase beads! LOL, I buy whatever catches my eye. I am a disaster in bead stores; no matter how many I have, I always want more. There are SO many pretty colors.
Thank you for mentioning my blog. Bead embroidery is great fun, as is bead weaving. Jump in and give it a go!
Another addict enters the fold!!!
I've had such a blast with beadweaving since I took it up a couple of years ago. It is an art form of limitless possibilities.
As for buying beads, I can't imagine just buying what I need for a project. I have millions of beads. Seriously. Two huge containers full of delicas in tubes and one huge container full of delicas in ziploc bags (almost all purchased from Fire Mountain Gems).
I'm lucky (or not, depending on how you want to look at it) that the International Bead and Button Show is held in Milwaukee each year, only a 45-minute drive from my house. I didn't make it this year, but I went three years in a row. And each year, I thought my arms were going to fall off from hauling home all the beads I bought. TONS of Czech glass beads, findings, and other things I couldn't resist.
I also have stacks of books, giant spools of Fireline (which is now my favorite thread to use for beadweaving, purchased at Amazon), and notebooks filled with ideas.
It's just such FUN!!! And I'm so glad my blog was part of your inspiration.
:-)
Cynthia we should NEVER go bead shopping together! lol
thank you for the mention! :-) and the Serafini/Kummli book is simply wonderful - that is how I started my beadembroidery craze!!!
No, I have never enough beads :-) I don't buy them by the project, I have a budget per month for beads, and I buy beads because I like that particular bead at that particular time - I like having lots and lots of them around me as I like having the choices available to me when I sit down and start beading :-)
Looking forward to seeing your first beadembroidered piece! :-)
Love the chains! I'll show this to my mom coz she's a crafter!
Dropped EC's for yah! Please visit my site http://www.kumagcow.com also. Thanks! :)
